TREATMENT

Treats sagging skin, enabling the removal of excess skin. Each surgeon adopts his or her own technique, adapting it to each individual case to achieve the best results.
However, common basic principles can be identified:
The incision is largely hidden in the hair and around the ear. From the incisions, a detachment is made under the skin, the extent of which depends on the individual case, particularly the extent of tissue relaxation.
The musculoaponeurotic plane is then re-tensioned with the utmost precision and in the right proportions, in order to correct the contours while preserving the face's natural expression. In the case of localized excess fat, liposuction or lipectomy with scissors is performed at the same time: it can be performed on the neck, chin, jowls and cheeks.
Conversely, in the case of volume loss, the addition of the patient's own fat (lipostructure) is often effective in harmonizing the result. The skin is naturally re-draped to match the shape created by muscle mobilization, lipostructure or liposuction. Excess skin is removed, and sutures are applied without tension.

Most surgeons apply a bandage around the head. The male facelift has a number of special features (thicker skin, shifting of the hair-bearing zones, thinner hair to hide the scars less discreetly), which your surgeon will discuss with you.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours

ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES

Benefits: The aim of the operation is to treat slackening and sagging of the skin and muscles of the face (temples and eyebrows, cheeks, jowls, oval of the face) and neck, as well as insufficient or excess fatty tissue. The aim of such an operation is not to change the shape or appearance of the face. On the contrary, by simply restoring the various anatomical structures of the face and neck (skin, muscle, fat), the patient́(e) can regain the appearance he or she had a few years ago.

Disadvantages : Edema, scarring, tension in the face at first In rare cases, the following may also occur:
- Persistent oedema (gumming) in certain areas beyond the third month, which may require massage
- Partial reproduction of tissue sagging, particularly in the anterior neck, when ptosis was significant prior to surgery,
- Scars that are too visible or localized hair loss in the temple area (alopecia), which may require a surgical touch-up at a later date (six months to a year).

RESULTS & PRICING

Result: After one to three months, you'll have a good idea of the final result. However, the scars are still a little pink and indurated, and do not fade until around the sixth month. Younger skin.
